Say goodbye to pesky aphids and welcome a natural solution for effective aphid control in your greenhouse. Aphid Predators (Aphidoletes aphidimyza), also known as aphid midges, are a formidable ally in the fight against aphids. With their remarkable efficiency, aphid populations become rare, especially during the summer months. Establishing breeding populations of these predatory insects with a single release is usually sufficient, but for optimal control, regular weekly releases throughout the growing season are recommended. Just 1,000 Aphid Predators can treat up to an impressive 10,000 sq. ft. of greenhouse space.

Lifecycle stages:
Aphid Predators specialize in controlling aphids, making them the perfect solution for combatting these destructive pests. The lifecycle stages of Aphid Predators are as follows:
1. Egg Stage: The adult female Aphid Predator lays small, oval-shaped eggs on the underside of leaves near aphid colonies. Each female can lay hundreds of eggs during her lifetime.
2. Larva Stage: Once the eggs hatch, tiny, orange-colored larvae emerge. The larvae are active predators and have a voracious appetite for aphids. They paralyze aphids by attacking their legs at the joints and then feed on the aphids by sucking out their body fluids consuming 60 to 150 aphids per day!
3. Pupa Stage: After the larval stage, the Aphid Predator enters the pupal stage. The larvae spin silken cocoons on the soil surface or in nearby leaf litter or mulch. Inside the cocoon, the pupa undergoes metamorphosis, transforming into an adult.
4. Adult Stage: The adult Aphid Predator emerges from the cocoon. They are delicate, small insects resembling tiny flies with long legs. At this stage, they are fully developed and ready to mate and lay eggs to start the cycle again.

Ideal Environment and Conditions:
Aphid Predators thrive in greenhouse environments, efficiently hunting down and eliminating aphids. They adapt well to moderate temperatures and humidity levels commonly found in greenhouses. With their versatility, Aphid Predators can flourish in various growing conditions, ensuring consistent pest control throughout the year.

Recommended Crops:
Aphid Predators are invaluable for a wide range of garden and farm crops plagued by aphid problems. Whether you cultivate roses, peppers, cucumbers, or lettuce, these beneficial insects provide reliable protection against aphids. With Aphid Predators on your side, you can safeguard your plants and maximize their productivity across your entire crop selection.

Application Instructions:
Applying Aphid Predators to your greenhouse is a simple process that yields remarkable results. Upon arrival, you will receive the Aphid Predators in cocoon form, ready to hatch and take action. The cocoon packages are conveniently designed for easy deployment. To deploy the predators, spread the contents of the bottles on the soil or leaves, ensuring they have access to aphid hotspots. As they emerge from their cocoons, Aphid Predators will instinctively seek out and devour aphids, rapidly restoring the balance in your greenhouse ecosystem.

Advantages Over Other Biological Controls:
Aphid Predators possess unique characteristics that set them apart from other biological controls. One key feature to consider is their soil-resting (pupa) phase during their lifecycle. It's crucial not to use Aphid Predators simultaneously with Predatory Nematodes, as their life cycles can interfere with each other. By choosing Aphid Predators, you benefit from their specialized hunting behavior, finely tuned for eliminating aphids. Their targeted approach ensures swift and effective aphid control, providing you with peace of mind and healthier, more vibrant crops.

Ensure Comprehensive Protection:
Even in greenhouses, a few specimen house plants that remain year-round can serve as potential sources of infestations. Take extra care to closely inspect these year-round plants for pests, in addition to your main crop. By incorporating Aphid Predators into your pest management strategy, you ensure comprehensive protection for all your plants year after year.

Experience the effectiveness of Aphid Predators today and witness the remarkable transformation in your greenhouse. Bid farewell to aphids and welcome a natural, efficient, and sustainable solution for your pest control needs.
